LITTLETON, Colo. — Kwik Car Wash recently teamed up with The Pooch Mobile dog grooming service to raise money for Youth and Pet Survivors (YAPS), according to a press release.
The fourth annual Dog Days of Summer event raised more than $1,225, stated the release, and a total of 40 dogs were washed this year.
The Pooch Mobile offered free dog washes with all tips going to YAPS, reported the release, and Kwik Car Wash donated 50 percent of all wash sales to the cause.
“Youth and Pet Survivors (YAPS) is a unique program that pairs children [who have] chronic [illnesses] with dogs who [are] fighting similar [illnesses] as pen pals,” said Kathryn Lewis, YAPS board member, in the release. “Sometimes the best medicine is simply a best friend.”
A drawing for a doggie gift basket was also conducted by The Pooch Mobile, noted the release, and Kimberly Schlichting of Through Your Eyes Photography was on-site to capture “all the special moments of the day.”
