GREECE, N.Y. — Royal Car Wash will open its third location after demolishing a closed school, according to the Democrat & Chronicle.
Co-owner Daniel Daniele said the other two Royal Wash locations have been successful, with their speed and efficiency impressing customers, stated the article.
St. John’s the Evangelist School was closed in 2004 because of financial crisis. Asbestos will have to be removed before tearing it down.
St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church parishioner and consultant Bob Skrypek said the parish supported the carwash. He noted in the article that spending $50,000 a year to keep the school heated was a “tremendous hardship for the parish.”
The Daniele family owns several properties in the area. It has plans to open a mixed-use plaza or mall in the future on another site.
