MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. — A developer wants to move forward with a project comprising several businesses including a gas station/convenience store, carwash, Dunkin’ Donuts and more, according to Journaltimes.com.
The development also includes a restaurant and retail space, reported the article. A second phase is planned for a 13,500-square-foot office retail building.
The site is located at a busy intersection in the area, noted the article. However, the project has been halted until a traffic study is completed. The developers have also tried to buy out several homeowners near the space.
Projections say traffic will likely increase by about two percent, stated the article. The study should be completed by July 1.
More than 20 percent of nearby residents have signed a petition opposing the project, shared the article. The proposal requires a 6 to 1 vote for approval.
