Sixty to 80 percent of people’s water use is outdoors, and there are many ways to limit consumption, according to the article.

One of the recommendations that the city of Canyon Lake has given to the citizenry is: “Instead of washing your car in your driveway, go to a carwash. The difference in gallons is 85 to 100 gallons on your water meter, versus 45 (average gallons) at the car wash.”
