MERCED, Calif. — The city council has paved the way for a new carwash after approving a planning change, according to the Merced Sun-Star.
Until the change, the lot was to house a restaurant, said the article. Only one council member dissented.
A 3,495-square-foot carwash will be constructed on the site, as well as an 850-square-foot retail or office building, stated the article.
The City Council also had to approve an entrance-only driveway for the location, noted the article.
The dryers are the loudest part of the wash, reported the article. The noise they produce will still be lower than the regular traffic on the street.
