SANFORD, N.C. — Benefits have been planned for owners of businesses destroyed in recent fires, according to the Sanford Herald.
Kelly and Terrie Gibson, owners of detail shop Kelly’s Clean Cars, had invested $7,000 worth of equipment in their business, and nothing was insured, said the article.
There will be a fundraiser this weekend selling barbecue chicken plates and raffle tickets.
Kelly Gibson said if there’s a job to do to give him an income source, he will do it. “I can’t stay down forever. If I’ve got to do a job I don’t love to do, there’s no shame in that,” he said in the article.
An auto auction and restaurants were also damaged by fire. Some were insured, but employees are also displaced. Future benefits have been planned to help them.
