SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Wash owners have expressed fears that a drought in California would eventually lead to cutbacks in water usage for carwashes, according to the Sacramento Business Journal.
Business has been good at washes because of the nice weather and lack of rain, but eventually that can lead to limitations on water usage.
One step that has been taken is that “carwashes have been eliminated in the state garage, except when required for safety.”
Other steps have been taken like a 50 percent reduction of water usage along California roadways, and suggestions for water conservation that have been sent out to school and community colleges.
