AMRA welcomes new manager of technical operations

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. — The Automotive Maintenance and Repair Association has provided uniform inspection and communication standards to the automotive repair industry for more than 20 years.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. — The Automotive Maintenance and Repair Association (AMRA) announced the addition of Timothy L. Hatcher as manager of technical operations, according to a press release.

Hatcher will oversee MAP Technical Committee activities, establish topics and presenters, and manage AMRA’s various technical services for membership, stated the release.

He graduated cum laude from Southern Illinois University Carbondale with a bachelor’s degree in automotive technology, reported the release, and he worked for the university while obtaining his degree by delivering IT support to the automotive program, maintaining and troubleshooting the campus network, computers and diagnostic equipment.

Prior to joining the association, continued the release, Hatcher worked for Bridgestone Retail Operations as a service manager and store manager for five years.

He is an ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) master technician with L1 Advanced Certification, added the release.

“Tim is a terrific addition to AMRA’s staff. His technical education and experience will be especially valuable to our membership and Technical Committee,” said Joseph M. Henmueller, AMRA/MAP president and chief operating officer, in the release. “We look forward to tapping into Tim’s diagnostic and troubleshooting skills of advanced automotive technologies to help enhance MAP’s consumer education materials.”

AMRA has provided uniform inspection and communication standards to the automotive repair industry through the association’s Motorist Assurance Program (MAP), a consumer education and outreach initiative, for more than 20 years, noted the release.
