DALLAS — According to dfw.cbslocal.com, on June 19th, the Dallas Board of Adjustment ordered Jim’s Car Wash on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in South Dallas to permanently shut down by July 19th.
The order came after a shooting that occurred at the beginning of June, leaving one dead and three wounded, the article continued.
Jim’s Car Wash has already been subjected to the city’s spotlight for crime issues even before the shooting, the article noted, as reported by Carwash eNews on Oct. 11, 2018.
Previously, Dallas police installed a camera to record activity at the carwash after citizens continually complained about sex and drug solicitation, the article stated.
Councilman Kevin Felder, who has spent years calling for the closure of Jim’s Car Wash, said in a tweet that the closure is a great victory for South Dallas, the article added.
“A more safe, peaceful and economically viable community coming soon,” Felder said.
