PORT GLASGOW, Scotland — Waves Hand Car Wash, a countrywide hand carwash operator and sole hand wash provider to Tesco, has applied for approval to place a hand carwash facility at the Tesco superstore in Port Glasgow, according to Inverclydenow.com.
Waves’ application laid out a plan to locate its facility on nine spaces — four for a wet wash area, four for a canopied drying area and one for a “portable customer reception cabin” — in the Tesco parking lot, the article reported.
According to the article, the company submitted a statement with its application which pointed to the benefits of approval.
“[This wash] will have a positive impact on local employment, creating an estimated four full-time and four part-time jobs,” Waves said in its statement. “The proposal is functional in its design, and we do not believe it will be visually obtrusive due to its very limited size and height. … We believe that the car park will have adequate capacity for this proposal, even at the busiest time of the year.”
The Inverclyde Council currently is considering Waves’ planning proposal.
