LAKEWOOD, NY ― Highway construction here has hurt Don's Car Wash, and the owner has had to lower prices at his gas pumps as a result, The Post-Journal reported.

The May 16 story quoted Jay Bowen, general manager and part owner of the carwash, who said, ''We have loyal customers that still go out of their way to see us. We're probably down 25 to 50 percent, depending on the day.''

To try and boost business, Don's lowered their gas prices by 5 cents. ''It seems to be helping a little bit,'' Bowen said in the story.

Bowen said he was told that construction should be done by next Monday.
