Rising Tide empowering those with autism, changing perceptions

PARKLAND, Fla. — In only its first year in business, Rising Tide Car Wash has not only made strides in empowering those with autism, but also inspiring communities to change their perception on what people with autism can do, according to a press release.

PARKLAND, Fla. — John and Thomas D’Eri co-founded Rising Tide Car Wash last year to create an environment where young adults with autism could learn how to be more responsible and gain independence, according to a press release.

John D’Eri’s son, Andrew D’Eri, a 21-year-old with autism, was among the employees. The wash has broken down the carwashing process into 46 distinct steps, which has allowed the employees with autism to “realize their incredible capabilities, gain confidence that they never had before, make friends, gain financial independence and have a place to call their own,” according to the release.
