HASTINGS, Minn. — Kwik Trip is one step closer to adding a new store in the area after it gains approval from the town planning commission, according to the Hastings Star Gazette.
The commission recommended the site plan for approval, and the city council will vote on Oct. 6.
Three years ago the company backed out of a proposal because of issues pertaining to the location of a full access driveway, said the article.

The site plans include a convenience store, gas pumps and carwash, noted the article.
The company will demolish an existing building on the site and relocate parking spaces used by the Hastings Child Development Center before construction begins.
Local residents have expressed concerns about traffic and safety, but Kwik Trip Real Estate Development Manager Wade DuMond said in the article that video security systems and a 24-hour attendant will improve safety.
