TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The cold weather may be preventing people from washing their vehicle, but it shouldn’t be, according to station WTWO.
Justin Spears, manager at Mike’s Carwash, said “it’s still OK [to wash your vehicle] even with the colder temperatures. … The water can get in the door jams and it can freeze, so we do encourage you to just wipe that really quickly,” and Spears said the door will not freeze.
The salt that is used on the roads to melt snow, is corrosive to vehicles, especially to the underneath part of the vehicle, according to the article.
Mike’s Carwash includes a warm water hose at the beginning of the wash, which helps to melt away the snow before the wash.
