STATE COLLEGE, Penn. — Every Thursday in Feb. Paterno’s University Car Wash will be donating all its proceeds to THON, a charity to defeat childhood cancer. The event is being called “Thon-Thursday,” according to StateCollege.com.
“We’re looking for stronger energy with the community,” said David Paterno, the owner of Paterno’s Wash. “Salt trucks drive all the business to the car wash,” he continued.
Free coffee and donuts were given out at the wash over the weekend to begin the campaign.
The wash is looking to organize more fundraisers in the future. Paterno said his business wants to give back to local charities.
