KILWINNING, SCOTLAND — When the staff at KML Carwash went to lock up Saturday night, they realized their giant Santa was missing, The Irvine Herald reported.
The Dec. 7 article stated that Owner Kris McLaughlin is convinced the mascot was stolen during the day. The thieves must have taken Santa at around 4:30 p.m. as a staff member recalled seeing him before that time.

“It’s a shame as Santa has been with us since the first Christmas we opened and the kids love to see him stand proudly at the entrance with his bucket and sponge,” McLaughlin said in the story. “I can’t believe someone would be able to take him in broad daylight, what happened to the spirit of Christmas in Kilwinning? Please bring him back.”
Readers with information on Santa’s whereabouts were asked to contact the team at KML Carwash.
