MANCHESTER, NH — Union Leader reported that a 25-year-old man was stabbed in a bay at Kerner’s Carwash around 12:30 a.m. as he was removing trash from his vehicle.
The Sept. 14 story stated that Thomas Stokes of Manchester was cleaning out his vehicle when he was grabbed from behind. Stokes quickly reacted by head-butting the assailant in an attempt to free himself, only to be stabbed once in the abdomen.
Stokes headed home after the incident, realizing hours later that he was in need of medical attention. He went to Catholic Medical Center and staff notified police at 3:30 a.m.
The attacker, described by Stokes as a 5-foot-8-inch Hispanic man with a thin build, had short dark hair and wore a bandana over the lower portion of his face. He was dressed in a dark sweatshirt and sweatpants, and wore bright red Nike sneakers. After stabbing Stokes, the man ran off heading east.
