FARMINGTON, Mich. — Holly and Mark Owen, owners of Colonial Car Wash in Farmington Hills, will host a carwash to raise money for the Farmington High School (FHS) cheerleading squad, according to hometownlife.com.
The money raised will help to replace the approximately $10,000 allegedly stolen from the squad’s account, the article stated.
A few weeks ago, a felony charge was filed against Kandice Hernandez, a former FHS cheer coach, who police reported admitted to taking the money, the article continued.
The carwash owners said in the article that they knew they wanted to help the squad rebuild its bank account.
“We feel so sorry for Farmington Cheer,” said Holly Owen in the article. “I used to be president of the boosters for the Farmington High School music program, so I know how hard it is to raise that money.”
The fundraiser will take place Sunday, July 19, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., noted the article, and all money raised will go to the squad.
