WATERLOO, Ill. — Sure Shine Auto Wash will hold its second annual Wounded Warrior Project fundraiser, according to the Republic-Times.
The event will take place Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., stated the article.
“First of all, a lot of our young men and women who go and fight for our freedom come back wounded, and they don’t get the support that they should get,” said Monty Wolfe, owner of Sure Shine Auto Wash, in the article.
The Wounded Warrior Project is a veterans’ service, nonprofit organization and a charity with a vast assortment of programs to help wounded veterans, reported the article.
Wolfe explained to the Republic-Times last year that he saw a TV program for the project and wanted to help, continued the article, and he was able to raise approximately $3,500 last year, with 100 percent of the proceeds given to the Wounded Warrior Project.
“These young men and women allow us to stay here [in the U.S.] and eat food on our table [and] sleep in our beds,” stated Wolfe in the article. “And, when they come home, they need to be treated with the most respect. They deserve the best.”
Sure Shine Auto Wash also provides free carwashes for veterans on Veterans Day, noted the article, and also gives them free t-shirts.
