Couche-Tarde chief financial officer resigns

LAVAL, Quebec — Following Raymond Paré’s unexpected resignation, Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. CEO Brian Hannasch will handle any financial and investor issues until the company finds a replacement.

LAVAL, Quebec — On Oct. 14, Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. CEO Brian Hannasch reassured the media and investors that the resignation of Raymond Paré, chief financial officer, doesn’t signify a disagreement or financial problem within the company, according to CSPnet.com.

Paré’s unexpected resignation was announced on Tuesday, Oct. 13, stated the article.

He plans “to pursue other interests and to spend more time with his family,” the article added.

For 13 years, Paré worked with the convenience store company, including seven years as its CFO, reported the article.

Hannasch, continued the article, will handle any financial and investor issues until Couche-Tard finds a replacement, and Paré will remain available during the transition.

According to Hannasch, the article noted, Paré was instrumental in the company’s growth through crucial acquisitions, including The Pantry in the U.S. and Statoil Fuel & Retail in Europe.

“The culture, the DNA of the company is well-established and I have no doubt … that the trend of the success of this company will continue,” said Paré in the article.
