LONGMONT, Colo. — Main Street Car Wash recently closed its doors to undergo a $3 million renovation, according to Daily Camera.
The six-month remodel will transform the old facility into a Breeze Thru Car Wash, stated the article, which will be its second location in the city.
Jody Rouse and Emily Rouse, owners/operators of the carwash, opened Main Street Car Wash in 1998, reported the article.
John Agnew, owner of Breeze Thru, stated that the 3,443-square-foot carwash will be closed until the renovation is completed, continued the article.
“The existing carwash was built in 1984, so it was a little outdated,” said Agnew in the article. “We want to make it more efficient.”
Main Street Car Wash employees were given the option to work at the other Breeze Thru location in Longmont during construction, informed the article, and Agnew reported that about half of the workers took the offer.
Both Breeze Thru locations will continue to operate after the newly renovated carwash reopens this fall, continued the article.
Agnew said he thinks the city can sustain two Breeze Thru locations, reported the article, and that the carwash has wanted to add a location in north Longmont for a while.
The other Longmont location opened in 2013, noted the article, and the newly remodeled site will be the company’s fifth carwash.
Breeze Thru also has carwash locations in Fort Collins and Greeley, Colorado, and Cheyenne, Wyoming, added the article.
“We’re a growing company, so we are looking to expand,” stated Agnew in the article. “Although it would be challenging, we’d like to get into Boulder.”
