AUBURN, Ala. — A local resident wants to reopen the SACO service station, which was closed nine years ago after its owner was shot and killed, according to the Auburn-Opelika News.
Mike Woodham plans to offer fuel, tire service, oil changes and carwashes on the site, said the article.
“It’s to give back to this community, which has given so much to our family,” noted Woodham, in the article.
Woodham plans to add new paint and digital signage, trim trees and replant flower beds, and make sure lighting is operational, stated the article.
The Auburn Planning Commission has recommended approval of waivers the business needs, and the city council will now consider the recommendation, reported the article.
“I want to see something happen with this property,” commission member Matt Rice shared in the article.
