DAYTON, Ohio — Former local sports stars, William Lumpkin and Chad Diggs, launched a new business with $50,000 in upgrades, according to Dayton Business Journal.
They formed Ram Pride LLC and purchased Northern Hills Car Wash in Dayton, renaming the location Gem City Car Wash, stated the article.
Upgrades to the site include new signs and dryers, the article added.
The partners are childhood friends who earned Division I scholarships to play football, the article reported, and they each received a varsity letter and graduated with business degrees.
Diggs graduated from the University of Toledo and Lumpkin graduated from Indiana University, the article continued.
They plan to develop Gem City Car Wash by seeking “contracts with local municipalities and businesses with fleet operations,” the article noted.
“[This is a] growing business venture with aspirations of using urban impact investment to instill a sense of pride and hope into the city of Dayton,” said Diggs in the article.
