VALLEJO, Calif. — 7 Flags Car Wash in Solano County is promoting Breast Cancer Awareness Month for the second year in a row, according to the Vallejo Times-Herald.
Throughout October, the carwash is partnering with the Susan G. Komen organization to help spread awareness about breast cancer and raise money for the cause, stated the article.
“I was looking for a breast cancer organization, and there are several; and I found that this one works with Six Flags Discovery Kingdom locally. [We] did it last year, and it worked out perfectly,” said Jason Anthony, owner of 7 Flags Car Wash, in the article. “We raised $7,200 last year.”
A local news release reported that the Sacramento affiliate of the Susan G. Komen organization donated banners promoting the “Race for the Cure” as well as bracelets, buttons, pins and brochures, continued the article.
The carwash will donate $1 for every “Ultimate” full-service carwash purchased in October, reported the article, and will also accept donations from customers.
The business’ goal is to raise over $10,000 this year, added the article.
Employees will also wear pink shirts in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, noted the article.
“Breast cancer has affected us all in one form or another, whether it’s a family member, coworker, friend or even yourself personally, it has touched all of our lives,” stated Anthony in the article. “One out of every eight women is diagnosed with breast cancer, and early detection is the key to survival.”
