KYLE, TX — The newly opened Water Works Auto Spa here is doing its part to save water, The Hays Free Press reported.
The Nov. 26 story quoted Jeffrey Blansit, president and CEO of the carwash, who said the carwash recycles between 85 and 90 percent of its water.
“All the water that comes in drops through the bottom [of the facility] into a 10,000-gallon storage tank system,” Blansit said in the story. “All the particles fall to bottom — the water filtration continues all the way through four tanks.”
Blansit also said that the spot-free water is made with 3 gallons of city water. “It takes generally three gallons of city water to make one gallon of Spot Free water,” he said in the story. “Those two gallons of 'reject' water — it’s perfectly good water — we store it in a big tank.”
Water Works, which opened in August, also offers 42 free vacuums, detailing services, and an air conditioned waiting area complete with a flat screen TV and free WI-Fi.
Customer Chris Cagle stated in the story, "I come here because it’s really the only soft cloth car wash in the area. I just don’t think the high pressure [washes] gets it done. I like the seven-day guarantee. It’s not like a rain check. If I go out today and get it dirty for some reason I can bring it back tomorrow. They’ve got great service, the guys are nice.”
