LOVELAND, Ohio — Mike’s Carwash will reach a milestone this June, celebrating 70 years in the carwash industry, according to a press release.
The company has grown from being Indiana’s first automated carwash in 1948 to one of the largest exterior-only carwash chains in the nation, the release continued.
Mike’s Carwash plans to commemorate the 70th anniversary with numerous celebratory customer giveaways, a big “70 Year sweepstakes” and a “Mike’s Day” in June, offering discounted washes at all 23 locations, the release stated.
“It gives me great pride to be celebrating our 70th anniversary,” said Joe Dahm, founder of Mike’s Carwash. “We have come a long way since my brother, Ed, and I started the business in 1948, but we’ve held fast to one goal: delivering a clean, quick carwash every time with a smile to each customer. I’ve always said, ‘We’re really in the people business — we just happen to wash cars,’ and I believe much of our success stems directly from treating our boss, the customer, to the best possible experience every time they visit.”
Millions of cars have passed through Mike’s wash tunnels since 1948, the release noted, and the company has grown to 23 locations in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.
The company has won numerous awards over the years, including Best Employers in Ohio 2014-2017, Best Places to Work in Indiana, and the Goering Center Family & Private Business All Star Award, the release stated.
“We owe our success to our dedicated team members and loyal customers,” said Mike Dahm, president of Mike’s Carwash. “And we would like to use our big anniversary as an opportunity to recognize and thank all of the individuals that have worked for and patronized our Mike’s Carwash locations for the past 70 years. We are looking forward to many more years of washing cars and bringing smiles to the communities we serve.”
