BURTON, ENGLAND — Owners of a carwash and valet service here were denied permission to continue running the business, BurtonMail reported.
The Feb. 22 story stated that the carwash was ordered to close by the East Staffordshire Borough Council. The council was concerned about the level of noise and the disturbance the wash caused.

The planning report released said the council had concerns about the impact the operation had on “health and quality of life” locally.
The reported noted, “Evidence suggests that there are unacceptable noise impacts on nearby properties. The use of the car wash is likely to generate continued noise and disturbance which would be detrimental to the amenities of nearby residents.”
